Eighty eight (88%) percent of marketers in a recent survey by Forrester say they are now using some form of social media in their marketing mix.

Certainly the topic of social media and Web 2.0 has prompted much discussion about how best to integrate these tools into more traditional approaches. As marketers we can see that there’s great potential, but we need to move past the shiny newness and understand concrete examples of how social media can benefit a business.

The social media panel will be moderated by Karen Phillips, Partner with AndersonPhillips Communications. Panelists include: Hillary Bressler, Founder & CEO, .Com Marketing, Jennifer Wakefield, Director of PR, Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission and Janie Graziani, Manager of New Media & Technology, AAA National Headquarters.

Join our marketing panel as they discuss social media from a consumer and B-to-B vantage, and will include corporate, public organization and interactive agency leaders.

• How industry leaders are integrating the top four social media tools into their marketing strategy to drive interactions and business growth.

• Tactical role of blogging, media sharing, live broadcasts, information streams, professional networking, video and online discussions.


Panelists:

Hillary BresslerHillary Bressler is CEO and Founder of .Com Marketing, a top 100 interactive marketing and advertising agency.  She is a recognized authority on Interactive marketing and one of the nations’ online marketing pioneers. Bressler established .Com Marketing in April 1997 after identifying the need for Web sites to be marketed. Her Interactive agency has served such notable clients as MP3.com, Nestle Foods, Marriott & Renaissance Dell, McDonalds, Tribune, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld.

Her experience and success in the Interactive marketing industry makes Bressler a frequent resource for news media and an in-demand business speaker. She has been quoted, interviewed and profiled by CNN/fn, Fox News, Entrepreneur Magazine, and other national and regional media outlets, and has contributed stories on the subject of online marketing to iMarketing News, PR Tactics, WebFinance and HSMAI Marketing Review, among many others.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in advertising from the University of Georgia and also studied abroad in Aix en Provence, France.

Janie GrazianiJanie Graziani is Manager of Social Media for the AAA National Office. She provides web-based communications support for the entire public relations team including podcasting and management of the AAA NewsRoom. Janie joined the AAA National Office public relations team in 1998 after serving three years as senior editor of AAA Car & Travel Magazine (AAA Florida/Louisiana/Mississippi) and working as a reporter and travel writer for more than 20 years with various newspapers and magazines.

Janie earned a Master of Journalism from Louisiana State University.

Jennifer WakefieldJennifer Wakefield is Director, Public Relations at Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission. She is responsible for providing strategic direction for the organization’s public relations’ efforts; managing media relations’ and stakeholder activities; and overseeing all social media initiatives.

Wakefield previously held position with Metropolitan Orlando, Chelco and BK Design Group/Pixel Factory. She is an Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional and is a Leadership Orlando graduate. She has a Master of Communications from the University of Central Florida and a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida.

Moderator:

Karen PhillipsKaren Phillips is Partner in AndersonPhillips Communications. Karen has worked with a broad range of organizations in her 20-year career including Citrus Memorial Health System, the Storage Networking Industry Association, IHS (Energy Division), Shell Oil Company, the British-American Business Council and The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Her expertise is in strategic marketing and public relations planning, media relations, media training, writing, editing, special events, public speaking and Web 2.0 strategies.

Karen’s work has been recognized through more than 25 regional and national award competitions, including the 1999 Women of Excellence Award from the Federation of Houston Professional Women. She is past president of both the Federation of Houston Professional Women and the Central Florida Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Karen has a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Texas A&M University.
